I’ll call this week a step in the right direction.
My goals from last week were to run 12-15 miles and do at least one PT exercise each day. I ran 12 miles and I’m pretty sure I did at least one PT exercise each day. Success!
Monday – 1.5 miles. We were so busy at work that I was nonstop and by the time I got home, I needed to run to get all the energy out. I went way too fast, ending up with the first half mile low 7:xx and ending with an average 8:39 with all the stop/go. We used the body bar and tube in body sculpt and I think the class went pretty well — it was huge. My core and legs were beat by the end of class so I’m sure I kicked their ass. Spinning was so, so for me but ended up being around 8 miles. The playlist just didn’t rock like I thought it would.
Tuesday – 2.7 miles. Treadmill miles. I was tired from PT in the morning and they took it easy on me! I had the incline around 3.0 and ran 9:30 miles, working in short intervals of 8:xx here and there. I winged the body sculpt class with weights, a bench, and the leg bands.
Wednesday – 0 miles. The classes were small today, but it was gorgeous outside so it was expected. We worked with a step and weight. I lost track of time and all of a sudden it was like “Stretch and cool down in 90 seconds – go!” during body sculpt. Spinning only had 2 girls and 2 of my songs that I downloaded from iTunes (in order to get an edited version) were not totally edited. I was embarrassed and now I’m also pissed that I wasted $3 on songs I cannot use (and will not listen to in my own time — gimme all the swear words!) Class was about -8 miles, I’d say.
Thursday – Rest!
Friday – 2.6 miles. I’ve always wanted to run on the break-wall under the Peace Bridge and it was the perfect night. The boy was leaving for Vegas the next morning, we both wanted a little run… so we trekked out together to get one in before dinner that night. It was more so a sightseeing run than anything and he was feeling a little sluggish, so it was an easy one. The nature was stunning though; we saw birds we’ve never seen around Buffalo.
Saturday – 3-5 miles. I didn’t want to run and I have no idea how far I ran. Friday my Garmin said 70%, I took it out to the Ridge and it said 0%. I ran trails very slowly — there were so many roots in the ground and it was mostly downhill. I took the pavement back to the car. I checked on Running Map to see what I ran and it put me at 4.5 but the run just did not feel that far. The important thing was getting some hills and trail running in for the Stage Race.
Sunday – 1.4 miles. Like Saturday, I didn’t want to run. After realizing it’s 5 weeks or so until the Stage Race, I realized I needed to get out. Unfortunately, I ate a bowl of [terrible] broccoli, cheese, and chicken casserole, drank two cups of coffee, and a huge glass of apple cider. I didn’t drink any water. I instantly felt sick, paired with smelling all the football Sunday foods, I had to try really hard not to have everything come up on some unsuspecting neighbor’s lawn. Better luck next week. I should really run before I do all the football things I do.
We’ll call it 12 miles running, 15 miles spinning, and 2 hours of weights.
Next week goals: Continue PT exercises every day, run at least 5-6 miler, aim for 15 miles.
